Ahhhh, the exhilarating sights and sounds of spring… chirping birds, sunshiny days, blooming flowers, and the sounds of wedding bells. Love is certainly in the air this spring, which is evident by all the upcoming spring 2014 weddings.
So, you decided on a spring wedding. Well, what a romantic way to end your engagement with a bang. Spring comes singing birds, beautiful natural landscapes and bright, cheerful colors.
But, even more than that, it gets dark much later in the spring than in winter. Not to mention, this is the season of beautiful skies and sunshine. This opens up many more opportunities for outside venues, travel accommodations, even lighting.
Not sure what we mean? Well, here are five tips to help you learn how to plan a spring wedding:
Of course it’s those showers that are responsible for the large array of pastel colored floral choices available for your nuptials. But, that’s not to say you and your guests want to be rained on during your big day. So, to play it safe, simply rent a tent for your outside nuptials and/or wedding receptions. You can find them at local wedding rental companies.
Yes, those “Easter” pastels tend to get quite boring at spring weddings. But, in 2014, you can give those traditional pastels some pizzazz by pairing them with contrasting colors. Some good pair-ups are latte and coral, lime green with lavender, chocolate brown with pink, even brown with sky blue. You can even pair pastels up with deeper, bolder colors, such as grape, fuchsia and royal blue.
When it comes to your reception venue, location is not the only big priority. Practicality is also a very important factor. That means that your venue needs to be able to comfortably accommodate the number of guests you’re expecting. Make sure the location is large enough for your crowd, but intimate enough to create an atmosphere of engagement and interaction.
Your wedding reception is an intimate moment, shared with your guests. The lighting should reflect that atmosphere, not one of an interrogation room. Avoid bright overhead lights at your reception. Instead, opt for floral centerpieces which feature pillar candles. If one candle in the middle of the arrangement is not bright enough, add votive candles around it. You can even soften everyone’s appearance by using colored light bulbs to match your spring wedding reception décor.
Oftentimes, brides-to-be keep their wedding budgets secret from their wedding planners, caterers, jewelers, florists, etc… The fear is that the wedding professionals will try to spend every penny of the budget if they know what it is. However, there’s a better way to look at it. Your upcoming nuptials are a grand production. And, all of these people are your partners during the planning of the production. Knowing your budget will help them understand your expectations, as well as your limitations. This gives them the ability to give you creative ideas and choices, without going over your wedding budget.
