So you’ve recently become engaged and are looking forward to getting married. Congratulations! It’s about time to lay out all the wedding plans – a very exciting time indeed! However at some point, you, as the bride may find yourself doing most of the planning stuff that needs to get done while the groom is out there busy telling everyone he’s engaged. Well, he’s at least helped you spread the wonderful news, hasn’t he?
Can you relate to this? (We can hear yeses out there!)
It would certainly be a lot more fun (and less overwhelming) to plan your wedding with the two of you sharing the burden Get him moving and let him help you out! We, at Thankyou, believe that getting your groom to do something for the wedding that focuses on his skills and interests will turn his attention and help you accomplish the details smoothly. Check out our tips below:
If your groom is:
Creative….
perhaps you can ask him to come up with an idea for your wedding invites. You may also get him to create an online card announcing your engagement that you can send out to family and friends. Maybe he can also work with your photographer and videographer to come up with more creative ideas for your wedding.
A “Math-lete”…
you are lucky- he can help you plan your hard earned wedding budget! There are online wedding budget tools he can work with as well, which makes it more appealing for a groom who loves to get the numbers right!
The best negotiator in town…
again, you are lucky! You will probably save a lot more if he can work out the costs and get discounts from your preferred vendors – plus, he might even get some more “extras” in your wedding packages!
A foodie….
let him help you work on the menu, too! Go together during your taste-sampling appointments with different caterers. You are sure to have a lot of fun choosing which dishes will make it to your wedding menu. Does he also love wine and is an “expert” in picking the best drinks for others to enjoy? The bar and the wine is a big deal for many grooms. They love making up their own drinks behind the bar and if you let him take care of this, that’s one more big task off your plate!
A car enthusiast…
you can certainly forget about all your wedding transportation worries. He may know where to find those exotic car rentals, choose which one suits your theme and even enjoy test-driving the cars.
A shopper…
he can certainly help you out with your wedding gift registry on Thankyou! Be it the traditional wedding gifts or contributions toward your new furniture or honeymoon, his input will come in handy when listing items in your registry.
The family “peacekeeper”….
he will be able to resolve arguments and discussions that may arise between family members about your wedding. Let’s face it, this sometimes happens along the way, but with your groom as the official “referee”, you’ll know things will be settled in time and everyone will be happy to see you tie the knot!
As a final tip, remember to always update each other about which tasks you’ve already done. Discuss what you think about this and that. You’ll be surprised how much you can accomplish when there’s two of you running around to make sure your big day is perfect and unforgettable.
Like they always say, it takes two to tango. Enjoy planning and we wish you all the best!
