How to Get Brides to Pay You – Faster!

{Sponsored Blog}

Wedding Professionals:

As the owner of BridalTweet and as a small business, I know how important it is to make sure that my customers pay me on time. Getting paid quickly enables me to run my business effectively. And guess what? I don’t want to have to worry about getting paid on time because I’d rather focus on running my business. Can you relate to this conundrum?

So how do I make sure that my customers pay me in a fast, worry free and effortless way?

I simply use PayPal. PayPal lets you accept payments online, via phone, or via invoice. Get paid even faster by emailing a bill to a bride with your own Pay Now button. Their service is easy to use, fast and affordable. There are no start-up fees or cancellation fees, and no minimum payments. The best thing is that your customers won’t even need to have a PayPal account in order to pay you. They can pay you with any credit card of their choice.

Within our wedding forum, wedding professionals are constantly talking about things that work (and don’t work) for their wedding businesses. Here are some helpful testimonials about PayPal from your fellow BridalTweet members:

Jennifer Lane Memory Lane Event said, "I switched to PayPal from collecting MC, Visa & Discover myself about a year ago. They can still use their credit card, but I don't have to deal w/ the machine or the monthly collection and fees from the credit card companies. I can send them an invoice and since I do so many on-line orders for my brides, I can pay the companies by PayPal. It makes all of our lives easier. Absolutely love it."

Wine Coutures said, "I love working with PayPal. I even have the PayPal Visa debit card which is attached to my PayPal account, so I can use it for buying supplies for my business as well. To me it is easy to use and they provide a great detailed statement to print out when tax time comes around. I am able to print professional receipts and shipping labels from the site as well. And since Ebay, Amazon and Etsy use PayPal, it now has that trusted brand recognition attached to it, so people feel comfortable using it. So, yes I would recommend PayPal."

Shannon of Astounding Events & Expressions said, "I use PayPal as well and I love it! I send my invoices to my brides and receive payments electronically. This also helps ensure I receive payments in a timely fashion."

Nora of Party Planners Plus said, "I use PayPal and love it...no hassle!"

Good idea. I currently use it for my eBay auctions as I'm trying to sell items to open up space for event items.

PayPal is the only way to go. We use it for exhibitors to pay for exhibit space at our weddings shows, for advertising space on WeddingsNorthValley.com, for ticket sales to our wedding shows. If you have ever paid for the "privilege" of credit card service through your bank, you know how great PayPal is. It saves money. It's easy for clients and brides. It's a good thing.

After having a major hassle with a merchant account company this past year, I discussed my problems within a bridal biz group I belong to, and found at least half in my group had switched from merchant account processing to PayPal as their exclusive payment method! I've just set up a new merchant account, so cannot switch right now, but I've set up my website to receive payments via PayPal and I love it! It's seamless and they are improving their reports all the time. I've had a couple problems where I needed customer service and they've been very helpful from that dept too. Using them since 1998!

I love Paypal because there is no minimum to pay each month - you only pay for each transaction. That works for me because I only have a bride who wants to use a credit card now and then, so it is a much better option than having a merchant account. Also, I like telling the brides that I use Paypal so I will never see or know their credit card number which they seem to appreciate. I have a Buy Now button on my website also. Love Paypal!

what amount of fees are deducted using PayPal? I need to switch over soon and would love your insight. My clients are used to the ease of credit card payments and I want to keep this option available. thanks!

How about the PayPal fees? Do you pass the fees along to your customers? They start to get high around $1000. I use a fee calculator and present the amount to my customer. If they're willing to pay for it, so be it.

Merrylin, do a Google search for paypal fee calculator and you'll get an idea for how much the fees will cost you or your customers. The range is 1.9 to 2.9% + $0.30.

I am leaning toward using PayPal but heard it can take 7 days for your money to transfer. anyone experiencing that or is it quicker? Authorize.net says they transfer in 1-2 days. any truth to this? appreciate the feedback!
