Due to the high cost of venue rentals, there is a new trend emerging; home weddings. There is a special warmth and uniqueness derived from a home wedding you just cannot get in a hotel setting.  A home wedding can range from a formal catered affair to a more casual do-it-yourself reception.  Having your wedding at home can offer you more flexibility with regard to personal choices and time schedules.

Weather permitting, you can have the wedding in your own garden, under a stately tree or in the gazebo, decorated arch or pavilion. Whatever focal point you choose, position your guests so the sun is not shining in their eyes while they are trying to watch the wedding ceremony.  Wedding guests may be seated or standing. Seating for the elderly is necessary for either case and keep the ceremony brief.

Here are some things to consider before deciding on a home wedding.

  1. Can your home accommodate all the guests?
  2. Is there adequate parking?
  3. Is the kitchen large enough to accommodate the needs of the caterer?
  4. Are there enough toilet facilities?
  5. Are there enough electrical outlets for lighting, heating, cooling, and band or DJ equipment?
  6. Can the area be tented or moved inside in the event of bad weather?
  7. Invite the neighbors! That is one way to insure they will not be complaining to the sheriff if your party is too loud.

Really nice idea. Not all people make effort for garden wedding, Destination wedding, in a hotel and so on. So, this  is great idea for those who are having some financial problem. Also it is not the bad idea because it is preferable in all aspects.
