You may have heard of honey as a natural and healthier sweetener. However, it is one of the most commonly used and the best naturally occurring product which is a complete boon to your skin. It is made by the alchemy of bees that collect pollen, nectar and resins of the flowers. It moisturizes your skin, fights the aging process and helps your skin in several ways. How Does Honey Help?
Honey contains active phytonutrients, antioxidants and enzymes that keep a complete care of your skin. Raw honey is an excellent cleanser, moisturizer and anti-aging cream.
As a Moisturizing Mask:
Honey is a natural humectant which means it is capable of drawing moisture from the air to your skin and makes sure that it retains in the deep layers of your skin and therefore it is an excellent moisturizing mask that gives you long-lasting results.
Try spreading one teaspoonful of raw honey on your clean, dry skin and let it get it absorbed for 20 minutes. Use tepid water to rinse off. Alternately you can mix a few drops of rose water to the honey and apply.
As a Pore Cleanser:
The enzymes contained in the raw honey clarify your skin and keeps your pores clean. Apart from that, the antibacterial properties of jojoba and coconut oil prevent the formation of bacteria that lead to acne break outs.
Stir one tablespoonful of raw honey with two tablespoonfuls of coconut oil, stir well till the mixture becomes spreadable. Apply this to your clean, clear and dry skin. Massage in the circular motion and avoid the mixture around your eyes. Rinse well with the tepid water.
As a Gentle Exfoliation:
Raw honey is loaded with the goodness of antioxidants, enzymes and tons of other useful nutrients that cleanse nourish and hydrate. Mix it with baking soda which is a gentle exfoliator and removes the dead skin build up to give you an absolutely glowing complexion.
Mix two tbsps of honey with one tbsp of baking soda, now apply this thoroughly all over your face in a circular motion and rinse well.
