Helping Your Guy Pick the Perfect Groomsmen Gifts

With all the preparations that go into planning a wedding, it may be easy to forget getting gifts for the wedding party. And when you do remember, it may be another round of headaches trying to decide on the perfect gifts. Generally, girls find it a lot easier to decide on what to give their bridesmaids than it is for guys to decide on the best groomsmen gifts. But with a little push from the bride’s side, getting this seemingly Herculean task done shouldn't be a problem.

1. List down their names.
Before even starting to think of gift ideas, knowing how many groomsmen will be a part of the wedding party is essential. Once the number of groomsmen has been determined, list down each of their names. This not only makes it more official and organized, it also ensures that nobody gets left out and that everyone gets a little thank you gift after (or before or during, whichever is the preference) the wedding.

2. Decide on a budget.

Considering all the expenses that go into getting a wedding underway, it’s imperative to be able to monitor the amount that goes into the thank you gifts for the wedding party. This not only allows for more control over the budget, but it also narrows down the gift options based on the price range that’s been set.

3. Understand the groomsmen’s personalities.
Nobody knows the groomsmen better than the groom – other than their families and significant others, of course. This is where the groom’s knowledge of his groomsmen comes in. It’s a great move to know each of the guys making up the wedding party so that the best groomsmen gift ideas can be drawn based off of their personalities.

4. Matching gifts vs personalized presents.

There’s no rule that says everyone should have the same gift. But if the groomsmen are friends of the groom from different social circles, then it may be best to get personalized gifts. However, if the guys are all friends of the groom from, say, a sports team or office job, then getting matching yet personalized items such as sports jerseys makes for practical yet cool groomsmen gifts.

Ideally, the groomsmen are the special guys in the groom’s life who have been there through his ups and the downs with him. They've played a significant role in shaping him to what he is now – the man who will wait at the altar to marry the love of his life. Additionally, they’re the pillars of support that the groom goes to when all the wedding preparations have been driving him crazy, and they’re the ones to remind him that this is all worth it.

These best buddies deserve a little thank you for all the work they've put in, so what’s a little help from the bride’s side in order to ensure that they get the best thank you present they deserve?
