Your wedding day is one of the most exciting days of your life. It’s also one of the most stressful and anxiety-ridden. There are a few things you can do to try to ease your anxiety and have a beautiful day.
There’s so much to do that trying to do it all yourself is going to lead to stress. Worse than that, no matter how organized you are, you’re going to start doubting yourself and worrying that you’ve forgotten something. Or you will forget something. Instead, enlist people that you know you can count on to help you. Delegate tasks to these people so that you can focus on more important or personal tasks, like fittings for the wedding dress or tuxedo.
You’re already busy, and adding more seems counterintuitive. But too much downtime alone with your thoughts is going to increase your anxiety. Instead, find fun things to do so that you stay busy, while not staying entirely focused on the wedding. This will keep your mind busy, and your anxiety can naturally subside a bit as a result.
You may find that no matter what you’ve done, your anxiety is still rising. Certain companies, like Koi CBD, know that you might want to consider a few drops of CBD oil to ease it. It has no psychoactive effect, so it will not alter your mental state in any profound way. It will simply soothe your anxiety and make you feel calmer and more capable of handling things. It simply makes you relaxed and whole, which is definitely needed on such an important day.
It sounds really selfish and wrong, but it’s okay to be selfish. It’s okay to set some boundaries on things you know will increase your anxiety. If answering all kinds of questions from guests is making things worse, appoint someone to be the “on-call” person for questions and direct everyone to talk to them. If you know you’ll need some time alone on the big day, build in opportunities for that—and don’t feel guilty about leaving your guests to party without you. It’ll be brief, and you’ll be a much happier bride or groom if you’re able to get the time you need. This day is about you, and it’s okay to make it about you.
Your wedding is a single day, a blip on the radar of your entire life together. It’s normal to feel anxious and want everything to go well. Just remember that, in the end, what matters is that you’re spending your life with the one you love.
