Hairstyles to Match Your Perfect Gown

You've probably spend hours picking out that perfect dress for your big day. You dreamt about it as a little girl and now you've made the big purchase. Now it's time to think about the other details of your look. I've broken down five popular necklines and paired them with their complementary hairstyles to help you make your big day sparkle from beginning to end!

1. Strapless
The strapless gown looks great with natural flowing hair. Since there will be so much space near your neck I recommend leaving your hair down or going for a half up style.

2. V-Neck/Halter
V-necks and halters are great for creating leading lines to elongate the neck. For this reason I recommend an updo. The updo will leave your neck exposed and won't cover any embellishment on the gown.

3. Single-Shouldered
The single shouldered gown is great for showing off a strong collarbone and back. It creates an asymmetrical look that should either be balanced by a sideswiped style to the opposite side of the strap or dressed with a low updo to show off the gown embellishments.

4. Boatneck
The boatneck is a classic and modest design and is best paired with a classic hair style. An updo is ideal since the neckline is a main feature to the dress. Keep to something simple and avoid too many curls.

5. Illusion Neck
This gown gives the illusion that there are two necklines to the dress. With this dress really anything goes. Up or down it will look great so go with your personal style!
