I work with a lot of different types of vendors - caterers, photographers, videographers, florists, DJ's, etc. Each one has their own style and mode of operation. Sometimes there are creative differences, but for the most part, we are all there to do a job and to help create a wedding day like none other, so we all work together towards this goal. Many times, you become good friends, which only makes the work load light and fun. Every once in a while, though, I run into a vendor that doesn't like to think outside the box, is in a hurry to get on to the next event, or just plain doesn't care. When we come across a vendor like that, it only hurts all of us, since someone must take up the slack for the one that doesn't care.

If you are an engageed couple looking to book a certain vendor, please check references and ask lots of questions before you contract with them. If the service provider is rude or indifferent to you or your event, then please find another who does want to please you. There are many so the competition can be stiff. If you have no choice but to work with the offending vendor, then please speak up and voice your concerns. There are ways to do this without offending or causing too much of a fuss. If you don't speak up or ask for better treatment, then please don't be surprised if the current treatment of rudeness continues.
