I wrote an article for Yahoo!'s Associated Content site this week about wintertime resources for homeless people in New York City. As I was writing the article, I was "tweeting" at twitter (via my @Songs4Brides account) about my research.
One of my twitter followers named Eva Scroggins tweeted back. She asked me if I'd be interested in hearing her story about having once been homeless in Brooklyn. I was so moved by her kindness and bravery and was able to put just a few details about her plight into the article for Yahoo! which can be read here:

Eva was the victim of circumstance. What happened to her could happen to anyone. She got help from NYC homeless organizations, waited it out and rose above the odds.
Now she's engaged and fundraising to pay for her own wedding. But her bigger long-term mission is to create a company that helps other wedding couples with funding struggles find a way to afford their weddings, too.
Please connect with Eva on twitter @CrowdWed or check out her fundraising site for more information. http://peerbackers.com/projects/crowdwed-the-first-crowdingfunding-...
She has a long road ahead to meet her fundraising goals, but here's hoping some more wedding bloggers take interest, tell her story and help her make this dream come true.
