The potential flowers hold is held captive by the boundaries of your imagination. When you think of flowers at a wedding what is the first thing you picture? Is it a beautiful bouquet or maybe a breathtaking centerpiece at the reception? In deed those are a common uses of flowers at a wedding, but make sure you don’t limit yourself to those things. Bouquets are widely recognized and world renowned, but don’t forget flowers aren’t just for bouquets.

Accessories hold a wide range of possibilities. There are a variety of options to choose from often incorporating flowers into their designs. Headbands may range from a single flower all the way to being completely adorned with multiple flowers for an even bolder statement. Barrettes with a flower (or a small assortment of flowers) often present themselves in the hair of flower girls adding a soft decorative touch. In addition to that, the bride also has the option to highlight her veil with a floral accent.

Other good uses for flowers are as decorations. Elaborate floral arrangements can help create a specific mood by adding a tone or color to the environment. A single stemmed flower can be used as a highlight on napkins, tables, or a bookmark in the guestbook. Garlands of flowers can wrap up your cake to add beauty. Other options such as floral cake toppers or randomly placed flowers commonly embellish cakes as well. Decorating with flowers is full of possibilities; you can get table decorations, wreaths, long flower garlands, and more. Whether you add a single flower, an arrangement, or sprinkle petals around, you are adding elegance, beauty, and detail

Favors such as leis (for beach or Hawaiian weddings), edible flowers (my own father had these at his wedding), and corsages (great gift for the mother of the bride and groom) are also popular floral items purchased for that special day.

Whether for a favor, an accent, or a unique edible treat, it is undeniable that flowers are a big part of a wedding. Culture, tradition, and personal desire are a few things that fuel the flame to obtain items with beautiful flower displays. Just remember, flowers aren’t just for bouquets.
