Five Outfit Ideas to Wear for A Bridal Shower

Bridal showers are one of those great opportunities where you celebrate your joys with your loved ones. This celebratory tea-party-cum-dinner/lunch is intended to give the bride the best time of her bachelorette life. The informal dinner or lunch might not be as fun (sarcasm intended) as the bachelorette parties, as they provide both the bride and the ladies with a perfect outfit to dress up. This pre-wedding event requires you to dress up in your best killer outfit, as the best dressed are always the talk of the town.

Here are some show-stealing outfit ideas for the bride-to-be and the guests, especially for those invites where you are in absolute dread over what to wear.

1. DRESS

Have too many options too choose from, or none? You can save yourself from the dread by going for a dress. Dresses are always in style, and never running out of fashion. Skirts give a feminine look and make you look classy. There is a wide variety of dresses to opt from saved by the dress boutique and select the perfect option for a daytime event. A crochet sundress in soft hues, paired with a head ornament and flats, will give you a bohemian look. Versatile drop-waist short dress paired with a cardigan would give you the classy, vintage look. It can provide a glamorous look with flats for informal, outdoor events and high heels or wedged-sole for the formal indoor parties. For a more sleek but classy look, opt for a regular 60’s swing dress with a halter neck. Short tulle dresses help you look chic without stealing the show. Multiple tiers dress would help you look classy and chic at the same time. Pair the dress you are wearing with leggings, jeans, along with leather waist-bands and flats for informal and heels for formal bridal showers.

2. OPT COCKTAIL FOR FORMAL EVENT

Formal bridal showers, being held in five-star hotels, restaurants, and banquets require to dress more formally. Outdoor events leave you with fewer outfit options, (temperature and all that). An indoor event means you can wear just about anything, as they are temperature controlled. You can choose from a variety of outfits, from long low-cuts and gowns to lace mini-dresses and floral separates. Choose from the warm and dark palette if its fall and winter. Light and bright tones are more appropriate for summers. Taking into account the time of the day is also essential. Night-time events demand formal attire; however, you can go casual for a day-time party.

3. UNICORN IN THE BACKYARD

If a bridal shower is organized in the daylight, there could be nothing better option than to don up in the pretty pastels. Soft hues are the most suitable for daylight backyard parties. It does not matter if you are wearing a Sundress, a pant-suit, or a jumpsuit, you can go for the pastel hues and accessorize with heels and scarves to look girly and stylish. Whether you are the bride-to-be or her companions, pastels won’t fail to make you feel like a unicorn in the backyard.

4. SHOULD YOU WEAR BLACK?

You are not the only one if one of the many questions popping in your head before attending a bridal shower is ‘should I wear black?’ Black symbolizes gloom (not our personal opinion, trust us!), and many experts agree on eliminating black from your color options for such celebratory events. The reason might be that black lacks the spirit to give the bridal shower those lively-vibes it craves. Oh ye lover of black, do not feel disappointed just yet. You can go black and white. Wear either separates with cool graphic black and white prints, or never-out-of-trend polka dots dress to add a feminine look to your personality. Wear cool contrasting accessories and makeup according to the time of the day.

5. STUCK BETWEEN ‘TOO TRADITIONAL’ AND ‘TOO UNCONVENTIONAL’?

Since we all are aware of the prohibited color codes (no white and no black), there is no apparent prohibited dress code for the attendees or the bride. But this does not mean the question does not dread the ladies. No one is going to arrive at a bridal shower dressed up like its Cinderella’s ball or a skinny dipping party, but there are certainly not so apparent things one shouldn’t do while going to a bridal shower. Do not wear outfits that are too revealing. Forget plunging necklines and deep low cuts. Bridal showers are supposed to be fun and comfortable, especially if they are informal. It’s an all-ladies party where you share the bride-to-be’s joy, no need to look too revealing with those deep necklines. Go for lace or linen jumpsuits and rompers for the modern and chic look. Short skirts and shorts paired with a blouse also work.

If the event is informal and in a lawn or a backyard, do not bother wearing floor-length gowns and long dresses. Wear something breathable and comfortable. You can choose crop-tops paired with pants and waistbands, or separates and jackets for a casual and classy look.
