Sometimes it’s all the little details that make a wedding unique and special. At a Wedding at the Roaring Fork Country Club in Basalt, Colorado (a beautiful small town outside of Aspen, Colorado) we just couldn’t get enough of all the unique fall wedding details. This wedding had a fall nature theme and everything from the centerpieces to the favors were geared toward this theme.
We also loved that they really took the time to think of the details that would make their guests at this wedding as comfortable as possible. If you are planning a fall wedding in the mountains of Colorado, or anywhere in the Rocky Mountains, you can be sure that it might get chilly at some point during the day. Well, this wedding thought of this and provided pashminas as favors for the female wedding guests and had waiters passing warm apple cider before the wedding ceremony.

Fall leaves lined the aisles of the wedding ceremony just behind the lovely Roaring Fork Country Club. The fall colors were continued in the wedding flowers as well.
An arch of Colorado fall colors designated the altar during the wedding ceremony.
How thoughtful is this? Pashminas for snuggling against the crisp fall air. The Rocky Mountains are beautiful in the fall but the mountains can bring in cold snaps. This couple prepared for that and their wedding guests loved it. What could be nicer than a cup of warm apple cider on a fall day in the Rocky Mountains?
We loved their favors and dessert tables. The wedding favors included individually wrapped candy apples with the saying
“The Apple of each other’s eye.” The favor table was there as guest left the wedding and was decorated with more fall leaves and candles. Simple, beautiful, elegant and unique.
Instead of the traditional wedding cake, this Colorado wedding featured a dessert table of cupcakes, brownies, pots of caramel with apple straws. All decorated like a walk in the woods in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. The desserts were arranged on Aspen stumps and decorated with leaves. Perfect- and VERY tasty too!
The wedding reception dinner was on the porch of the Roaring Fork Club- looking out over the Mountains surrounding the Basalt Valley. It was chilly so they had heat lamps placed between the tables. Again, they planned the wedding to think of guests’ comfort as well as beauty and fun.
We loved photographing this wedding at the Roaring Fork Club and make an effort to photograph the wedding details as well as all the wedding moments. We remember all the work that went into planning our wedding and love that the wedding photography from our day documented all those special things that we planned.
We are lucky enough to photograph dozens of weddings a year so if you are planning a wedding and want some creative ideas drop Gathering Light Photography a line and we may have some photos of some unique wedding details to help you make your wedding special.
