What makes a wedding meaningful is not the grandness of the wedding, but of the moments you share on one of your greatest days. Going for an extravagant wedding may not guarantee your satisfaction. Paying for expensive services may stress you.

Frustrations
What if the group of musicians you hired on your wedding day did not perform well? What if the catering services you chose for your wedding did not provide good service? Or your wedding organizer failed to keep a smooth flow of the wedding ceremony? You might end up disheartened by not getting what you pay for. Instead of enjoying the day, you end up feeling frustrated
Reactions
Aside from the possible frustrations, you might also get varying reactions from your guests. Some of them might feel that you have splurged too much despite the economic crisis we are in right now. They might comment on how you blew it all out for your wedding while they themselves are worried on not being able to pay their bills on time.
Priorities
Additionally, if you focus more on making your wedding extravagant, you might not be able to properly set your priorities. You might also forget the true meaning of wedding, which is a celebration of you as a couple and of your desire to live together. Do not lose your priorities by obsessing yourself with the expensive costs of decorations, invitations, bouquets, venue, bands, or other services. It is not the main focus of the wedding.
Alternative—Romantic Wedding
You can choose to make your wedding romantic instead of expensive. If both of your are adventurous people, you can choose to say your “I do’s” on an island, or on a mountain. This kind of wedding is ideal with a nicely chosen ideal cut diamond. It would be less costly, yet dreamy.
You can also have your wedding on an outdoor sunset, with a very romantic end where both groom and bride face the sunset. Also consider setting your wedding venue at a significant place. Perhaps in a place where you first met, or where you had your first kiss, or where you became an official couple.
Also, having your wedding as an exclusive event for the groom and bride only is romantic. The idea itself that you want your bride’s attention to focus on you, and your attention focused to your bride makes every moment tender. Just remember that your wedding day is a celebration of your union as husband and wife.
