And they think Bridezilla's are bad.. well sometimes pet owners are just as passionate and proud of their pets as any wedding-crazed bride to be and so a much loved pooch or persian should become part of your special day.
But you can't just had a 3 foot Doberman rock up at the Church unannounced. Here's somethings to take into account when planning a wedding with pets.
Does the venue for the ceremony allow pets?
Not surprisingly, not all do and even some beaches and parks have pet restrictions. Any couple planning a wedding have to weigh up their options. What's more important to you.. where you get married or having your fluffy french poodle walk down the aisle with you?
Is the pet well trained?
Imagine the horror of you cat leaping up and down your expensive couture or your pooch lifting his hind leg on the best man. Pet trainers should be able to help you with animal control but this is something that takes months of planning. Like wedding weightloss it won't happen miraculously overnight.
What about your guests?
Not everyone is going to share your animal enthusiasm. Some people just don't like pets, some people are allergic, some people are just plain terrified! Consider your guests when planning a wedding to include pet and it would be a great courtesy to advise your guests if pets are involved.
Who's responsible ?
You are going to have to designate a "minder" in case of a stray cat, mouse, bird that excites your pet into a Walt Disney frenzy. And consider what happens after the wedding.. chances are if you are using a venue/ restaurant for your reception pets are out. So you need to have a plan for what happens after.
Having said all that including a pet can make for awesome photos, a fun ceremony and add some personality to your wedding like shown here
