DIY Wedding Ideas: Favors, Place Cards, Ceremony and Reception Ideas

Brides are always looking for new and creative ideas to make their wedding even more gorgeous, fun, unique, and romantic then the last wedding they have been to. I'm going to give you some resources here to look at that are such awesome ideas!

  • Check out this Pinterest Page. This page is your all in one DIY wedding source. It has things like mason jars lit with candles for your entrance to the receptions, ways to ask your girlfriends, will you be my bridesmaid?, unique save the date ideas and centerpieces you never seen before.

  • Favors: you want to do your favors at least a month ahead of time so that you aren't tying a bow on your bags the night before the big day. Here are some good sites to check out for your DIY favors. One good tip: if your favor happens to have goodies make sure to do those a week before your wedding day to keep them fresh.
  • bellaterra.net
  • containerstore.com
  • foryourparty.com
  • weddingthings.com

  • Ceremony ideas: A very easy way to set a sweet, romantic and rustic tone to your ceremony would be to create some signs around the ceremony grounds. You can do signs like "Welcome" or "Wedding" with an arrow. These can easily be painted on a piece of wood. Here is an example. This helps with your decor and help guests that may be coming out of town or unfamiliar with the area.

  • Place cards: Don't be boring like everyone else. Use your place cards in a unique way that shows off your style. Two really neat ideas that I found surfing pinterest is ting your place cards around the neck of a beer bottle or the neck of a wine glass. Its classy but fun. It says "Let's Party!"

Sometimes, its better to make these little trinkets yourself. This will make you remember your day even more and make it even more special! DIY Weddings have been around for a long time but just got the name "DIY". Happy Planning!
