Having multiple events connected with your wedding creates its own set of unique challenges. In addition to the ceremony, some couples have a rehearsal dinner, wedding brunch, sangeet or mendhi party, pre-wedding cocktail reception…the list is endless.
One of the challenges is how to present the event information clearly in your invitation. For example, we recently created a mendhi-inspired wedding invitation set for a destination wedding.
Not only were there three events connected with the wedding weekend, the couple also had two ceremonies, Jewish and Hindu. If that wasn’t enough, a significant number of invitations were sent overseas. Here’s how the bride met the challenge:
Multiple Ceremonies – Just one invitation was printed. Since not every guest would attend both ceremonies, the time of the ceremonies was indicated below the main body of text. This enabled the guests to arrive at the appropriate time for the ceremony of their choice.
Overseas Guests – Since many of the overseas guests would not be able to attend the wedding, the bride opted for an RSVP card that directed guests to their wedding website. This eliminated the need of additional event enclosures and RSVP envelopes (as well as the hassle of trying to figure out postage).
Multiple Wedding Weekend Events – For guests in the United States, a “make it a weekend” card was developed, giving the guests details for each event. The accompanying RSVP enabled guests to select the individual events they would attend as well as the number attending each event.
Creating your invitation enclosures for multiple events doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Your wedding planner or an experienced invitation printer can help you organize and elegantly present your event details in your invitation.
