With March right around the corner, our thoughts turn to that most festive of holidays, St. Patrick’s Day. Although this holiday celebrates the feast of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, you don’t need to be of Irish descent to celebrate the beauty and culture of Ireland at your wedding.
St. Paddy’s celebrations usually consist of wearing green, eating Irish foods and drinking Guinness or Irish Cream. Incorporating these elements into a St. Paddy’s or March wedding are fun, but here are some other ideas for bringing Irish style to your wedding.
Lots of greenery –Re-create the pastoral beauty of Ireland at your event with lots of fresh, lush greenery, shamrocks and green ribbons in centerpieces and floral arrangements.
Music and dance of Ireland – Hire a bagpipe player or Irish step dancers to perform at your ceremony or reception or incorporate Celtic wedding music into your service.
Culture and Art – Decorate with Celtic crosses, love knots, or Claddagh symbol, or recite an Irish wedding toast or blessing.
Whether you’re of Irish descent or would just like to incorporate the verdant beauty of Ireland into your wedding celebration, the effect is sure to be enchanting.
