An Intimate and Romantic Celtic wedding and Hand fasting on the lakefront of Elizabeth Evans Park in Mount Dora, Florida. The bride and groom were surrounded by close family and friends

Groom: Jason
Wedding Date: 03/14/14
Wedding Location:  Elizabeth Evans Park Mount Dora
Wedding Style: Celtic, Irish
Wedding Colors: Green, Black and White

This location had sentimental value to the bride and groom. This park is where Jason proposed to Deeanna. The weather was sunny and mild and boaters passed by and waved and honked in celebratory manner. A perfect day for an outside Celtic Hand fasting Ceremony on the lake.

The Fashion

The bride wore a strapless a-line wedding dress with gold details across the bodice. She completed her look with a baby's breath floral head wreath and simple jewelry. The groom wore all black with a green and black tie. The MOH wore a LBD and the groom's daughter wore a black ensemble with a baby's breath floral head wreath.

From the ceremony

Jason wanted to do the traditional Anam Cara for their vows and because he had a young daughter they also did a Child vow and presented her with a traditional Claddagh ring.

The Claddagh ring (Irish: fáinne Chladaigh) is a traditional Irish ring given which represents love, loyalty, and friendship (the hands represent friendship, the heart represents love, and the crown represents loyalty).

In addition, we did a modified  Hand Fasting . The bride's sister made the hand fasting cord for the couple.

The Ceremony
With full awareness, know that within this circle you are not only declaring your intent to be hand fasted before your friends and family, but you speak that intent also to your creative higher powers.
The promises made today and the ties that are bound here greatly strengthen your union and will cross the years and lives of each soul's growth.
Do you still seek to enter this ceremony?

Hand fasting
Are you willing now and always to make this commitment to each other? We are. And so the binding is made. Will you stand side by side for the rest of your days together? We will. And so the binding is made. Will you bring fun, laughter, joy and happiness to your relationship? We will. And so the binding is made. And as the years pass and your hands become aged and wrinkled, will you reach out and be there for each other? We will. And so the binding is made. And now as your hands are bound together, I ask you to declare your vows to each other.

Jason and Deeanna exchanged Anam Cara vows

The Flowers The bouquets, head pieces, and corsages were amazing in green and white and perfect for the Celtic Irish theme. Here are more pictures I captured after the ceremony
