8-Week Wedding Fitness Package

Weddings are the most important time in any person’s life and looking good is a must. However within all the preparation chaos, finding time to workout is put to the back of the list.

This is where The Fit Scene comes in.

Over the course of the next 8 weeks we are going to explore an array of avenues to get you looking your best on your big day. We are going to break things down simply and effectively so that come wedding day, you wont believe the person looking back at you in the mirror.

As well as direct exercise workouts we will also be looking at a host of other areas that will contribute hugely to your overall success.

Each week our blog will provide another step towards those goals, but don’t worry we will be here the whole time to listen to you.

So are you ready? Lets begin…

Week 1 – Getting the right mind frame

Before we even start, we need get organized. Below are your tasks for the first week.

Don’t Stress

Weddings and stress seem to come hand in hand and trust me your not alone.

You’ve probably been imagining marrying your prince since draping a pillowcase over your head at the age of 10. For one day you can live that fantasy, without the pillowcase.

Whether marrying in front of a few close friends or the entire world, stresses are inevitable and finding ways to reduce this are key.

Be Realistic

One huge, unwanted wedding stress comes from being unrealistic about your end fitness goal.

Every bride in the world will come in all different shapes and sizes, so before we even start you need to have a target weight in mind. As much as all brides would love to hug a dress like Pippa Middleton, we need to concentrate on our own bodies.

So how much do you want to lose?

1- Liaising closely with your wedding dress provider is actually a really great starting point to know how many pounds we should be looking at losing over the 8 weeks. Shape and design of the dress you choose will also determine which specific areas of the body need closer attentions.

That perfect dress you have your eyes on doesn’t want to be too small or too big on your wedding day, so speak candidly with your dress provider as too the final dress size you require.

Ok, got your target weight? Great we’ll come back to this soon.

Time Management

In my eyes this is the key component to successful wedding preparation, especially with your fitness goals. If your time management isn’t well prepared the likelihood is that stress will then follow.

1- Write things down at the start of each day.

You will be surprised how simple and effective writing things down can be. That satisfying feeling of completing and then ticking something off has a great psychological impact. This can be done with your exercise routines that we will begin next week.

So… buy a white board and start writing, but don’t write too much. Little, realistic goals for the day will much more rewarding than writing too much and not completing them all.

2- Utilising ‘unproductive’ time

Without knowing everybody’s own routines this is hard to say when these times occur, but I can guarantee everyone has them. Getting to work each day is usually a safe bet to the most unproductive time spent by most people.

Why not utilise this time by completing tasks that would normally be done when you are back home. This way you can get home knowing you have a lot more free time to do what you actually want to do.

Food Diary (To be completed in your unproductive time.)

Don’t overcomplicate this. Simply write down a small description of each meal and snacks you have in your first week. At the end of the week get a highlighter out and go over all bits that you think are a little bit naughty. That’s its, no more than that for now. Tick food diary off the list.

Just the beginning…

So in one week we’ve:

- Told yourself this is your wedding and your body and you're going to be realistic about your goals.

- Spoke to our wedding dress provider, if need be, and found our target weight and areas.

- Organised your week on the white board.

- Found your unproductive times

- Completed your food diary

Not bad for a couple of hours right?

We are all in this together, so we want to hear from all brides and grooms to be. Got some great ideas to share? We would love to hear from you.

We will make the next 8 weeks a smooth transition and together we will hit all our goals for the big day.
