5 Must Ask Questions When Choosing a Wedding Location

It is no secret that getting married is a life-changing event. It is a significant moment in time that you have been waiting for all your life. In fact, you have probably been planning for this day since you were a little girl. One of the most important considerations is the actual location of the big event. You want to be careful in selecting the place that you ultimately decide to host your wedding. Here are five questions that you will want to ask yourself when choosing a wedding location.

What is the Weather Like?

If you are thinking of an outdoor wedding, you might want to think about the weather in your location. Some areas of the country have extremely unpredictable weather at certain times of the year. While you can never be guaranteed of beautiful weather for an outdoor wedding, some locations leave that open to being more of a possibility than others.

Will I Want To Bring In Outside Catering?

Many wedding parties want to hire their own catering company. Perhaps it is a company that you have used before, or one that comes highly recommended by friends and family. That is fine, but keep in mind that some venues will not allow outside catering. In order to avoid any misunderstanding, you will want to confirm this in advance.

What is the Anticipated Size of the Wedding Party?
This is a particularly important question to answer if you are considering a private event venue. You do not want to pay for space that you are not going to use. Think about how many people you anticipate attending the wedding, and then plan accordingly. You will be much more comfortable in a venue suited to your party size.

What About Tables and Chairs?

People need to sit somewhere. Make sure that you think about this aspect of the wedding. If the venue you select does not have tables and chairs, you will want to make sure that you rent them ahead of time.

Will There Be a Party After the Wedding?

Many weddings have a great party after the vows have been said. You will just want to make sure that you choose a venue that allows for this. Check out their sound system ahead of time. If it is not up to your standards, ask if you can bring in your own DJ and band.

These five questions will help you to get your creative juices flowing as you work towards selecting a wedding location. This is one of the biggest decisions in the planning process, so take your time. If you have your heart set on a private venue, remember that many popular locations book up months in advance. You will want to plan ahead.
