It's the moment couples spend years planning for. They've set aside a budget and have visions of a perfect day that will go off without a hitch. With so many couples ditching the traditional venues we expect for wedding ceremonies, here are four venues you will want to consider for your big day.
While a hotel ballroom may not be the most attractive or hip location on the list, there's a reason it's a tried and true location. For starters, your guests will only have a short walk to and from the ceremony and reception and they won't have to worry about finding a sober ride home if they imbibe in too much free champagne. Another added benefit by going inside is that most hotel ballrooms will be able to furnish all the essentials you'll need, like tables and chairs. That means time and money saved by not hunting down rental companies to find three hundred chairs. Hot and humid summer days can also be a concern for wedding ceremonies and a ballroom will provide an air conditioned space that won't leave your bridal party looking sweaty in all your photos.
The perfect setting for a wine loving couple, wineries can set a romantic backdrop with rolling vineyards and sunsets. You're likely to have ample outdoor space as most wineries are already set up with beautiful outdoor spaces but also have indoor tasting rooms in the event of inclement weather. Top shelf wine made right at the winery is of course one of the strongest selling points for vino lovers.
If farmhouse is your home décor of choice an event barn will be a match made in burlap heaven for your wedding. Event barns are growing in popularity by giving couples total control of their day by allowing them to decorate and bring in catered food of their choice. Mix in a raucous band and an open bar and you're sure to have a fun barn wedding that your guests will talk about for years.
You can fully embrace the warm summer nights and have your wedding on a boat. Chartered boats for weddings are a niche segment but one that can be overlooked. You don't have to have a multi-million dollar yacht for a boat wedding. Often you can find a boat that will take care of all the details and allow a small number of guests, which is a hidden bonus of a boat wedding. Instead of having to invite your family and a few hundred strangers you can invite only your closest friends and family. With a wedding on a boat your guests are also along for the ride and you won't have to worry about large chunks of attendees wandering off to a different bar down the street.
When it comes to planning the perfect outdoor wedding, couples have options that are only as limited as their creativity. From a ballroom to a boat, the traditional wedding business has been upended in recent years. The challenge for all couples is finding the spot that fits their lifestyle and their budget.
As a wedding planner, do you know of any Sydney venues that allow BYO alcohol? So far I have only found 1. I think it's also fresh and adventure on a Forrest wedding, even though not much people did there.
