4 Dates Every Groomsman Should Mark Off their Calendar

You were chosen by your friend as his groomsman for a reason. He wants you to witness one of the most important days of his life, so it's only fitting for you to be there each step of the way. Here are four dates you should mark off your calendar.

Bachelor Party

It’s common knowledge that the best man is in charge of the bachelor party, but they definitely don’t need to do all the planning themselves. Enlisting the help of the other groomsmen can make the planning easier. Don’t worry too much about the costs and keep everything fair by splitting it evenly among those who are able to attend the groom’s last hurrah as a single man.

Suit Fittings

The groomsmen’s suits are expected to match, whether it’s by style, color, or even accessories like cufflinks. And you’ll definitely also need to be fitted for them. As the best man, you’re tasked with the fitting schedule and making sure that all the groomsmen are able to come on time. If there are any out-of-town members of the groom’s party, you might be asked to arrange accommodations for them, as well.

Rehearsal Dinner

The rehearsals are typically held a day before the wedding, and as part of the groom’s wedding party, you’re expected to be in attendance. During the rehearsal dinner, you’ll most likely be expected to make a toast if you are the best man.

The Wedding

There are several easy tasks you could do on the day such as familiarizing yourself with the venue and provide necessary information when needed such as the location of the toilets and exits, etc. Keep the groom relaxed with funny anecdotes. Good with words? Offer to help write the best man speech beforehand and prep him before he takes the mic.
