It's no secret that planning a wedding requires a lot of details, and it can sometimes become overwhelming. The beginning of the planning process, it's probably the most overwhelming, while trying to understand where to begin. I always tell my brides, and anyone who asks for advice, 3 important details that I feel set the foundation for beginning to plan their wedding.
First, and this goes for any kind of event planning, you MUST figure out a budget. Sit down with your partner, grab some wine (because you may need it), and figure out who's helping you, what you both will be contributing, and get this total to use as a guideline throughout the planning process. It's ok if the number changes a little bit, but you will need to have a good estimate.
Second, finalize your date! This is definitely an important part of the planning process, and will halt all other details until you figure it out. You will need this finalized in order to book professionals, and it will help you create a plan when you know how long you have until that day.
Third, now that you have you budget, and your date finalized, start researching venues that fit your budget and wedding theme. You will want to book this as early on as possible because venues book very early, sometimes even a year in advance, for those very popular venues. A side tip on this topic, however, would be to utilize an off the map, or creative venue that may not need to be booked as early.
I hope these tips help in your planning process! And comment below any other tips you'd like to share, or that may have helped you along in your planning process.
