Project Holiday

I hosted the event Project Holiday today for the arc of sedgwick county in wichita kansas and i must say I had the time of my life. These children with special needs provided me with so much more than any monetary value ever could have. I did this event for free and in fact spent quite a bit of my own money to do it, but when i watched these children , laughing, playing, dancing, and enjoying all the things i had done for them, I was overjoyed! I was almost in tears watching these precious… Continue

Perfect Wedding Planning Software that's Not for Planners

Wacky title, I know. But that’s what kept going through my head as I was watching the demo for Coaches Console, an online dashboard. Well, it actually seems better than that. I’d call it an online ‘wife’. You know, someone who looks out that you get things done and done on time! (no offense, guys, but you know what I mean)

Occasionally I’ll come across a post on one of the forums asking about the best wedding planner software. I guessed there would be many. Au contraire mon frere!… Continue

say cheese

Cheese. I love the stuff. I would bathe in it if it wasn't such a waste of something that tasted sooooo good.

So you can imagine my dismay when attending weddings where the cheese platter is the last of a long line of food to be placed on the table.

A lot of couples forgo cheese platters… Continue

How much time do you really need to plan a wedding?

Planning a wedding can be done in a few weeks or as long as a few years. The question to ask yourself if you are considering a short planning time is what you're willing to be flexible on. There are definitely vendors out there who can help you. You may be limited to the locations to hold the ceremony and/or reception, but there is no reason why you cannot have an elegant wedding even if the time to prepare it is under a year.

Some pros to planning a wedding within a few… Continue

A great site for Brides in Los Angeles

I am getting married next June and I am on a very small budget. I also need someone to coordinate my wedding but I do not have money in the budget to pay someone. I found this great website called areyougettingmarried.com and they offer catering and event planning as well as all the chair and linens, etc. all for a very small price per person. It is very helpful. I have a tasting with them on Saturday and I am sure it will be amazing.

Sherlock Holmes Loves Letterpress: Vintage Printing Arts in Feature Films

I was recently avoiding my work projects and watching some TV when a preview came on for the new Sherlock Holmes movie. While I had no idea before this that a Holmes movie was in production, what surprised me the most happened toward the ending of the clip.

During the most explosive portion of the preview, lead typeface letters like the ones traditionally used for letterpress printing flashed onto the screen. They appeared in succession, eventually spelling out the title of the… Continue

How to Create a Unique Keepsake of Your Wedding Invitations

Your wedding invitation is truly a one-of-a-kind remembrance of your special day since it provides a record of some of the most important details. It is always recommended that a few extra invitations be ordered to save as souvenirs of your wedding, but chances are they will be placed in your wedding album and eventually packed away.

Why not create a memento of your wedding invitation that is more permanent and can be easily displayed in your home as a special remembrance. Especially… Continue
