I recently participated in an event focused on brides & special occasions, where, to my delight, I found many brides, who were intentionally looking for
something memorable they could keep after the
wedding day. Not that their husband-to-be, their ring, their photos/videos weren't enough... just that... their search was for…

Wow, what a year 2010 has been! Within the first few second of the year, I became engaged! As the clock struck Midnight to bring us in to the New Year, Deg was on his knee, asking me to soon be his wife. He posted on facebook "Asked Mel Diesel to marry me, she said yes of course. We're dancing the night away.I never new the meaning of that until now".
We danced to our wedding song ("Only You can Love Me This Way" Keith Urban) over and over again, then some of our other memorable moment…

We were delighted when we received a gracious email from Jacqueline of Los Altos de Eros inviting us to take a tour of their luxury inn and spa. We had read so many great things about the property on

When it comes to your wedding ceremony it seems the majority of couples are nervous about one thing:
The Vows
For some reason, trying to put in words how you feel about the love of your life and then expressing that in front of a room full of people makes a couple nervous? Can't understand why ;)
So, how do…

... so you are throwing a party. Your wedding. It's gonna be BIG. Perhaps the most important celebration you'll ever plan. You have lots of friends and family attending. Some from afar. You love your guests.
... OMG your guests.
... You've been so focused on the ceremony, the dress, your bridesmaids, the food, the cake, the first dance, the invitations, that you almost forgot about how your guests will feel coming into town for your big day.
... Now that you are…

I was looking for something extra to offer my clients in my Marriage Readiness Training Course. Based on my many years as a counselor I discovered many people go into marriage without a clue about the legalities of marriage. When crucial decisions need to be made they end up paying a fortune in attorney's fees to settle estates, make health care decisions (We all remember the Terri Schiavo Story), and deal with numerous other matters. So I decided to find an expert in the area of family law…

Well, it's been quite the week! On Thursday I had planned to work on my Wedding Open House to-do list. I woke up and figured it's cold out so I'm not going to bother fussing too much with hair and makeup. I put on some comfy clothes, poured cereal and coffee and my brother calls. He's on his way to Ohio to do some things for his mother-in-law and to rescue her kitty (MIL is in nursing home temporarily-long story). So, being the nice sister I am, I ask if he would like me to ride along and keep…

I love the winter. My mother says that winter is the time of dead things. And I guess, in a way, she's right. But there is something about this dormant, somber season that speaks to me of possibilities. I can look at the trees and know that soon, they will be lively and green again, and the dogwoods will be sporting their lovely blooms, and the flowers will be opening to the…

This morning while surfing the web I came across a media release for a bridal show being held in Auburn, Indiana today. What makes this bridal show stand out to a wedding planner in Canada is that it's being held at the Auburn, Cord, Duesenberg Museum. Growing up I literally spent every Labor Day Weekend at that museum so it really holds a special place in my heart.…
