If the Bride or Groom has children or nieces and nephews that they would like to have involved in the ceremony, there are several ways to do this. Traditionally, an engagement ring is a gold band with a diamond solitaire. More recently, however, many women prefer other semiprecious stones set in white gold or platinum. Another thing to consider when selecting rings is whether you will be wearing your rings every day. If so, you may want to consider sturdier stones such as pearls or opals and an 18 carat alloy which is more durable. Finally, don't forget to add the ring to your homeowner's or renter's insurance policy.
