Weddings Traditions From Around The World and Throughout History

What Exactly Does "Tying The Knot" Mean?

I was thinking about this question the other day when I was in a pensive mood. Where does this term originate from geographically, and what types of knots were being tied to finalize marriage? Who does the tying and what did it signify? Of course, as with most things, there are several different cultural meanings that may or may not be related.

After a couple searches on Google, I found that the first place this term was used was in… Continue

Mandalay Bay's Minus5 Ice Lounge

Minus5 Ice Lounge an all-ice indoor bar and lounge. Nearly everything in this 2000 square foot space is made of ice, from the walls, tables and hand sculpted figures to the benches and glasses. Most people only last 30 to 45 minutes in here, a loaner parka comes with paid admission. However there is a $20 fur-coat upgrade which seems like a good investment.

Nightclubs periodically redecorate to keep decor fresh, the lounge plans to update its look frequently. Every six months, the… Continue

More Hidden airline fees

More “hidden airline fees!” By Marie Glodt @ Travel to Maui

Baggage Fees for Domestic flights in the United States

In today’s blog I wanted to comment on baggage fees imposed by the airlines. This is ever changing so please keep this mind when traveling.

It is always a good idea to call the airlines directly a day or two before you depart! This is a good time to reconfirm your flight times and see if the baggage fees have changed since you booked your… Continue

PROBLEMS THAT ARISE WHEN PLANNING BIG DAY

One of my biggest problems was hiring the decorator from hell. She kept changing the price on us, would request that we take her to places and on our big day decided to prepare seating for a bridal party of 10 and not the exact amount of 20.

Let's share our wedding horror stories. What's yours, I'd like to know?

Sometimes Old Machines Work Best Today’s Wedding Invitations With Yesteryears Let

Did you ever have something that was obviously much older than the newer models but you refused to get rid of because it worked so well? Some things were built in an age when craftsmanship and a long life were valued over inexpensive, up to date, expendable products.

Not that I do not love technology and the newest gadgets as much as the next person, but sometimes it’s hard to improve upon something that works well. Take printing for example. Computers, software programs, digital… Continue
