We are located in the heart of wine country. There are farms everywhere and vineyards line the hilltops. Looking out our windows at work we can see wide grassy fields, tall oak trees and beautiful mountains in the background. It is a beautiful area to live but there are certain consequences that come with this beautiful territory.
Surrounding our building complex is a rather large dairy farm. A couple times a year when the season is right and the wind is blowing there will waft in… Continue
This is something I learned while I was getting my hair done for my wedding. It’s great for anyone who feels that they have bald spots around their face like I do!
Here’s a neat trick to help cover up these areas to make your hair look more full:
Basically, you can use brown/black eyeshadow and your eyeshadow brush (or a sponge) and just dab along the roots of your scalp. This helps to add a lot of depth for… Continue

We will find any excuse to celebrate and event. Birthday's, anniversaries, graduations, births, deaths (yes, we can celebrate their wonderful life that they shared with us) and of course, weddings! One of the ways that we share in celebrations is with food. Food is a very important part of your wedding.
Whether you are having a buffet, sit-down meal, potluck, or old-fashioned BBQ, food is the way that we share with each other. Therefore, the food that you share at your wedding should… Continue

I have never experienced a wedding in the snow. North of the San Francisco bay in wine country it doesn't snow very often (I mean every 10-15 years!). When it does, it's mostly just a thick layer of frost that melts by 9 am. However, I still have spent plenty of time in the snow. I have fond memories of going up to the mountains to snowboard and waking up to see snowflakes frozen on windows. There is something about those crisp, cold mornings that I find… Continue
I was reading an article posted on the knot and thought I'd share it with everyone, along with my comments and reactions to each tidbit.

There's a reason I give up holiday weekends...for a wedding like I did at The Surf Club in New Rochelle this past Sunday, the 24th.
We were so worried about the weather and we had a very close call as a light rain began to fall about an hour prior to the ceremony. But after selling my soul for the umpteenth time, the clouds broke about 20 minutes prior and we went ahead with the original plan of an outdoor ceremony. Did I wipe down the chairs...yes, did I set up the ballroom...yes,… Continue

All relationships blossom into loving relationships when people decide to share instead of trying to change each other. If you make a mistake by doing or saying something that is hurtful or damaging to the relationship. Having a good relationship means having the energy to enjoy getting out and doing things together. We all want to be loved and have a happy and long-lasting relationship with a person that we care about. Know that both romantic love and the power struggle are not the… Continue

this weekend we have a high school prom to decorate.
this is one of those events that i love doing because we work with the same staff members at the school every year, so they know how we are and how we work.
BUT, what makes it difficult is that every year the students change. the juniors move a grade up to plan the senior prom - and the sophomores become the new juniors. so the seniors know me - they know the process.
but for some reason, they always want the same prom as the… Continue

Everyone today seems to be talking about their carbon footprint. From the cars they drive to the foods they eat, measuring carbon emissions is a growing trend among Americans. Carbonfund is a nonprofit company that has a very easy calculator anyone can use to find out how many… Continue
