Having multiple events connected with your wedding creates its own set of unique challenges. In addition to the ceremony, some couples have a rehearsal dinner, wedding brunch, sangeet or mendhi party, pre-wedding cocktail reception…the list is endless.
One of the challenges is how to present the event information clearly in your invitation. For example, we recently created a mendhi-inspired wedding invitation set for a destination wedding.
Not only were there three events…

Your good friend just got engaged. Your (insert here: sorority sister, camp friend, girl you’ve known since 2nd grade) spent a few Sunday afternoons dragging her fiancé through Bloomingdales and Williams Sonoma, lying to him and herself about all the cooking she will do in the future. She demanded a new Wok set, those trendy square plates that are too small and of course a set of fancy martini glasses. As we pointed out in our earlier blog,…

According to The Wedding Report, wedding spending has declined significantly since 2007 - almost by 30% (averaged) overall. The vast majority of wedding vendors can attest to the a downsizing of wedding budgets, as well as a drop off in bookings (new clients). Consultants and Coordinators in particular have seen postponements and cancellations spike in recent months.
Everyone is feeling the pinch; while engaged couples are trying to save,…

The last wedding ceremony I attended was out of town in a church I had never been to. I neglected to google for directions before I left, and since it was the day of the wedding, it seemed no one was answering their cell, so finding the place was quite a hassle. In this modern age of computers and GPS navigation built into our cars and phones, bad directions should be a thing of the past. Unfortunately though, they are not.
Have you ever missed, or arrived late, to a wedding because…

While there's no sure way to be certain that you or your company's name will turn up at the top of a Google search for any particular keyword, an active social-media presence can help, writes Jim Tobin. The Basics
There are four basic parts to a wedding invitation, the envelopes, the invitation, the reception card and the response card. Let us explore each of these elements closer. We will start with the envelopes.
The envelopes consist of an outer and an inner envelope. The outer envelope is used for the mailing; it has the recipient’s full name and address. The inner envelope holds the invitation and other inserts. The inner envelope is often sealed (with a sticker bearing…

What details of your wedding can be crafted by yourself? The simple truth, is of course you can do anything. Add a bit of creativity, and a good amount of planning, and you'll find yourself able to accomplish just about anything I'm sure.
But there is a really good reason we hire people to do certain tasks. First and foremost, you have to consider that if you've done it all yourself, who will take care of laying everything out on your big day? If you've done it all yourself, will you…
