Shalini and Martin's Ceremony at the Fairmont, San Jose

Shalini and Martin’s Ceremony- Fairmont Hotel, San Jose

Shalini and Martin were such an amazing couple! Their ceremony and reception were in northern California at the Fairmont Hotel and it was so much fun to create the festive and elegant feel that they wanted.

For the ceremony, they wanted to use gold and reds to keep it more traditional which made it a very regal look.

Hope you enjoy Shalini and…

February's Birthstone

It’s the time of year again to celebrate February’s birthstone- amethyst!  Amethyst is a stunning deep violet gem that radiates a sophisticated feeling of beauty. The gift of amethyst is symbolic of protection and the power to overcome…

Ivory and Gold

Ivory and Gold

It is nice to go with the seasons for color in weddings, but in all honesty, gold and ivory are timeless and, for the lack of a better word, seasonelss colors.  When using the two colors together, it is important not to let them blend into eachother, but rather compliment eachother.

In this case, we used shades of amber lighting to make the gold draping stand out against the ivory floral and linen. The overall look was quite….…

Fashion and Color

Fashion and Color

Hi Everyone!

We have loved watching MB Fashion Week 2011 so far and these are the trends that we are seeing so far in colors. We get a lot of our inspiration for colors from fashion, and spring seems to be bringing us corals, jewel tones, mustard yellow, and periwinkle blue. Can’t wait to translate these colors into beautiful palettes for our weddings!

Enjoy!…

Frequently asked Bridal Questions

Bride/ What is the difference between traditional and air-brush make up?

Traditional makeup can be great for a day at the office, airbrush makeup offers a longer  finish and wear. Regular makeup tends to absorb into the skin. Airbrush makeup has a truly air like quality. It will not clog the pores the way makeup will. It looks fresh and stays satin all day long. It is water proof, tear proof and hug proof.

Bride/ Of the 2 which one give me the best coverage and stay…

Photography

Being a photographer is a blessing.  Although tough times can actually break someone and look back if they made the right choice.

Success do happen, but not over night.  Which is true, no matter how you put things in perspective.  The past 10 years of my System Admin career was a blessing in disguise.  If it wasn't for the moment they needed a product photographer and web designer, I would have not thought in many years I would be in the professional photography industry. …

"Digital Dilemma", Not this South Padre Island Photographer

Don't wake up some day(about 20 years from now) and realize that every photo you have of your children growing up is on a card in your camera that can't even be read anymore.  I am afraid that this is what is going to happen to a bunch of you.  Get your images printed!!, or at a minimum back them up to several locations. I keep mine on 3 different hard drives and a service called Carbonite,

Candy Heart Centerpiece

We LOVE (pun intended) this adorable and easy to assemble DIY Valentine's Day centerpiece. To create this look, start by sorting through your craft closet for two transparent glass vases (one that can fit inside the other). Place the smaller vase into the center of the larger vase. Fill the space between the two vases with colorful conversation heart candies. To finish your sweet centerpiece, use the center vase as a receptacle for cheerful flowers.
