I realized while talking to a bride one afternoon ,how important this question is. A really lovely bride brought her very helpful matron of honor with her to our consultation. When the bride had made all of the selections and we had customized her invitation ensemble ,we came to this very question of how many invitations she needed."At least 350! I posted this a few days ago on my blog but wasn't a member then so thought might be of interest.
"You’d be surprised how many of us there are. We spend our entire lives waiting for the moment we’re proposed to, so we can run around frantically with our best friends in the local bridal boutiques trying on dresses, swooning and cooing and excitedly exclaiming “I feel like a princess!”. But imagine your despair if you’re faced with the problem that I was back in early 2007 as I…

Unless the bride and groom are paying for everything themselves, then who pays for what is a delicate but necessary conversation which has to take place. Traditionally, the bride’s parents pay for the entire wedding reception while the groom’s parents pay for the rehearsal dinner. These days, it is not unusual for families to share expenses. It is important to remain realistic with your budget and allow anyone who is contributing financially to have a fair say. As a general guideline, the Bride…

Wedding Dress shopping is one of my favourite bits of the whole planning process; every girl loves to play dress up, right? Well some of us do, while others find the whole experience completely stressful, so much emphasise has been put on finding the perfect dress that it can be very daunting!

You might think that a DJ's place at a reception is always behind the table where his equipment is set up.
Most of the time, that's where the DJ should be.
But not ALL the time.
First, there is no way the DJ can ensure the music sounds just right -- not too loud and not too soft -- from behind his table. He needs to occasionally walk the room and check out the sound from where the guests are. Believe me, things sound much different in front of the speakers than…

I spent part of the day taking the fliers for the Wedding Open House to area businesses in Sheboygan Falls, Kohler, Plymouth and Manitowoc. Everywhere I went, everyone was so friendly and nice about putting the flyer in their business!
Tonight I have been working on my fee schedule to include with the letters to the brides on the Bridal Faire list that I received yesterday. It's the first time I have actually spent time actually figuring out what to charge for every little thing.…
