It seems like a lifetime ago, but only 5 years ago I was a bride.  I planned my entire wedding by myself on a budget most said…

white-rose To honor a loved one who has died, place a lit candle or a single "white" rose in a vase on the alter or guest table to represent the presence of the deceased. Some choose to display a photo.

A moment of silence or a special prayer during the ceremony are other ways to reflect on the loved one. In your ceremony program, mention the person or people by name.

The Wedding Kiss – A Perfect “10!”

beachkiss Here is a clever idea that is sure to get a chuckle from your guests.

I have done beach weddings, gazebo weddings, banquet and country club receptions, intimate ceremonies for 2, vow renewals, and what I have learned is that no 2 brides are alike!!! Every single wedding has been uniquely different in style, colors, theme, and price. Brides are very cost conscious and want the best quality for what they pay for. They expect courteous service for their…

From Homelessness to Wedding Pro: Eva Scroggins Builds Her Dream

I wrote an article for Yahoo!'s Associated Content site this week about wintertime resources for homeless people in New York City.   As I was writing the article, I was "tweeting" at twitter (via my @Songs4Brides account) about my research.

One of my twitter followers named Eva Scroggins tweeted back.   She asked me if I'd be interested in hearing her story about having once been homeless in Brooklyn.   I was so moved by her kindness and bravery and was able to put just a…
