A little about yourself and what you have to offer this wedding community?
The grace and opulence that define the Gilded Age of architecture are re-discovered at the Elkins Estate.
Designed by renowned architect Horace Trumbauer in 1896, the Elkins Estate boasts two of only a few surviving examples of retreat homes in Elkins Park, an area that once provided a popular refuge for the Philadelphia’s wealthiest businessmen and their families.
This 42-acre oasis was the country sanctuary of Philadelphia, PA entrepreneur William L. Elkins. Elkins. In the 1930’s the Elkins family sold the retreat to the Dominican Sisters of St. Catherine de Ricci, who maintained the Estate as a women retreat for for 75 years.
The Estate is now under the ownership of the Land Conservancy of Elkins Park. Rescued from development and revived through delicate restoration efforts, the Elkins Estate will continue its service as a peaceful wellness retreat and refuge while expanding its services to provide a magnificent venue for occasions of all sizes, such as Philadelphia wedding receptions, formal or intimate parties, workshops and corporate events.
