Hey Heidi, I think you're already off to a good start. Networking is pretty important. Just be sure after the show there's a way for you to stay in touch with the brides you'll meet.
As for marketing, I'd say if you know who your ideal client is and why, you're ready to market. If not, that's the first stop. Brides have so many choices you really need to give them a compelling reason, beyond price, why they should work with you.
You might take a look at the work of either Natalie Bradley of Bride Attraction or Ciara Daykin of Rockstar Wedding. Both these gals have marketing systems that can help you.

Hey Heidi, do you see any significant differences between how weddings are planned in the UK and here?
I've always wondered. I was lucky enough to be traveling in London before my 1st wedding and got my veil there. It was quite a smash because it was completely different than anything here. I have a sense it's not the major production it is here, or is it?
