Why don’t you offer different packages for me to choose from?
Simply put, I only have one package—I promise to give you the best night I can. There are no A, B or C selections because I tailor the event to your specific needs—from the lighting, sound and musical choices to dressing appropriately for the occasion. To have a Gold or Platinum package (or other, less fancy-named options) implies that at some point you might not be receiving the best that I can do. To me, that seems to be more about price than it is about service.
Can we see a list of the music you have?
I carry almost 125,000 tracks to each event, from the hits of the 1920s to this week’s charts. Every genre, every major artist and plenty of deep cuts that ensure we don’t just play the same 60 tracks at every party. To scroll through the list would be overwhelming, so all you have to do to is ask about a particular track. In the unlikely event that I don’t have it, I’ll make sure I buy it specially for your wedding or party. There’s no reason you should have to go burning CDs and supplying any of your own music. That’s my responsibility, and it’s included in my price.
Are lights included in the package?
Of course. Lights enhance the mood, encourage people to dance and make for a more memorable night. Unless you specifically request it, I’d never dream of not providing lighting, or of charging extra for a basic set up. Accent Events, LLC predominantly uses LED, stage-quality lighting. This is important because LEDs have an extremely long bulb-life (so no failing lights at the last minute) and also use a tiny fraction of the power of conventional lights, so less chance of tripping circuits... and a smaller carbon footprint, too!
Wouldn't it be easier to just hook up my iPod to play our favorite songs?
Absolutely, but your wedding should never be about what’s easiest, it should be about what’s best for your big day. After all, it would be easier to buy a couple hundred subs from a sandwich shop to feed your guests, but most couples would never dream of doing that on their wedding day! Remember, there are no do-overs in weddings. If you try to economize on what's important to you, it could be the worst money you ever save.
The entertainment portion is the most important factor in a reception, both in creating memories and ensuring a smooth flow to the night. Your personal tastes and song preferences will be a priority, and we will have discussed them in advance. However, as your DJ, I am also the Master of Ceremonies and will coordinate the speeches, organize the schedule, make announcements and adapt to last minute changes. I doubt your iPod can do all that, let alone know how to pronounce the best man's last name!
