I find more brides and grooms are saying they want personalized service. This is their special time and feel a bit stressed. More often than not now, my couples tell me they are contacting me because surfing websites becomes confusing and they want someone to give them some direction, suggestions and personal input for their destination weddings and honeymoons. They just don't want to risk this day and need some important hand-holding. Personally, I'm glad to be there for them!

Black and White photography for wedding photos has been a big request for about the past 10 years. Retro is in.

I have had my brides say that they "Loved the Airbrush Makeup" - a new concept and many are fearful to try the unknown. Flawless skin tone, wont streak if you cry and the shimmers are to die for! They usually say "Wow" when they see them.

As a wedding photographer, I get to hear how important photos are to couple, sometimes beyond everything else. Many of them realize their wedding day can unfold in such a fast way that they are left with this after blur. This is when having a collection of evocative, candid, emotion filled images helps them relive each moment as it happened. Not to mention having all those beautiful details they carefully picked also captured in an artistic manner.

I had a bride tell me this weekend that Invitations (even budget ones) are just "way overpriced for a piece of paper that will be thrown in the garbage!"
Surprisingly, it's a quote to pay attention to.

I definitely hear watching the price of things and trying to cut costs....Many are trying to do as much as they can themselves.

I own a DJ Entertainment Service and I notice more brides emailing w/out leaving a phone # or address. This makes it more difficult to engage them. At the same time, the brides I do talk to want to be taken care of. I believe slowly more brides/grooms want to be taken care of.

I am hearing that brides are looking for non-traditional ideas. An example of this would be using a ring bearer bowl or plate instead of a pillow....
