Does anyone know of a networking group in the Houston area for wedding photographers, or other wedding professionals? I'm looking to make connections and friend in a group that isn't exclusively about discussing photography. I wouldn't want to be out of place as a wedding album designer in a group of photographers who are there to relax and talk about lenses! :)
Anyone know of a group like that?
Thanks in advance!

If you could secretly tell wedding or event planners one thing that would make your job easier, what would that be?

Hi, Just a quick note for photographers in Mass and greater NE about our first Bridal Tweet Meet up. We're gathering on Oct 16 at the gorgeous Gore Place in Waltham from 6-7:30 for a tour then informal networking. It's always nice to meet new colleagues. Please join us. Just shoot me an email so I can give headcount to our generous host. Directions are at http://www.goreplace.org. Light refreshments will be served. SEE YOU THERE!

Hey August Photography, it just depends on what you want to do with your blog. Right now, I am using the free version of wordpress, so my domain is www.kristicrosson.wordpress.com which I do not mind. I chose a template that allows me to use a custom header, upload photos, make galleries, etc., and that's it. It can be expensive, but it really doesn't have to be. I don't know anything about Prophoto, so I can't tell you much about that, but I can tell you that I used blogger for the longest time, and I LOOOVE wordpress compared to it.

Hey August Photography,

I don't think Wordpress needs to be expensive. I bought a domain and then found a guy who hosts websites on his server, and had him transfer everything. I have to pay him annually to kepp it on his server. I'm not working in dollars, but it was the equivalent of about 60 dollars. Anyway, then I got the free tofurious theme and uploaded that. You just need an FTP server for that. And that's all I've spent on my blog! I didn't feel like paying for the Prophoto theme when I'm just starting out.

Good luck!
