I would always opt for the pros! Some girls just have to cut costs- sadly. Every bride should be able to go the distance for this once in lifetime.

Wendy, that was a great way to put it. I don't think that the DIY albums are worthless, I just want a couple to know that they are not the same. And won't last like our albums. I think the DIY albums are great for fun projects, I even had one myself for a funky model shoot I did a few years back. However, the printing faded and the pages are paper thin and ripped, so I decided not to keep it. I am always trying to find less expensive alternatives for my brides, believe me, but you know, it's hard to beat the quality of Leather Craftsmen, Finao and GraphiStudios, all the tops in the industry. After all the wear and tear on my albums, they still look amazing.

I guess everyone has their priorities, but I would not skimp on the visible memories of a wedding. Having said that, some girls want to make their own albums and save money. So, I guess there is an option for all. What a bride must understand is the difference between DIY results and professional results- you get what you pay for. Brides, be sure you think about this before making vendor and DIY decisions. Your choices will impact your memories.

Just a note, the albums someone posted about in a previous post are NOT the same as what a professional wedding photographer offers...not even close. They are NOT the quality or care of design of what we offer, nor any other photographer I know. There is a reason that wedding albums cost what they do...quality of product, printing and beautiful design. I even have of these "albums" and it we threw it away...it was basically one of those "snapfish" type books. They may be fine for family photos and other projects, but certainly not like anything we offer, where real photos are mounted and albums are hand bound and take a few months from start to finish. The album crafters are artists themselves! I'm sure most people know this already, but it's a little deceiving to call their album a "wedding book." Quality of printing on any of these "internet albums" is NOT the same as an album from a professional photographer.
