Hello,
Last summer we performed at an amazing beach ceremony out at Gurney's Inn in Montauk, NY.
The bride walked down the aisle in bare feet as did the groom (and he wore an all white casual suite which looked great).
For our part which was the music, we provided a Duet of Violin and Cello.
We have alot of repertoire from classical to contemporary and the Groom worked with me towards the ambience he wanted most for the ceremony and he requested these selections to be played for his guests just before the ceremony began. In the wedding program, which was a simple one page long however not wide sheet, the Music was categorized as follows:
"Love Songs and Romantic Music by the Capriccio Ensemble"
We performed these selections:
And I Love Her, by the Beatles
Your Song by Elton John
She's Got a Way and
Your Song by Billy Joel
Open Arms by Journey
For the Ceremony we performed a Romantic Duet by Hummel from one of his Piano Sonata's, called "Romance" for the Seating of Family as well as for the Bridal Party
We performed "Canon in D" for the Bride's entrance.
During the Wine Ceremony we performed "Arioso" by JS Bach
For the Recessional Music we performed my very own arrangement, written for our ensemble in 2002 of "Ode to Joy" (Beethoven from Symphony #9) going right into "All You Need is Love"
The couple had unique themes for the portions we either paricipated in or were able to see. For the cocktail hour, which occurred right after the ceremony on the top deck of the Inn, the bride, groom and guests enjoyed drinks, all kinds of summery fruits and cheeses with a touch of light soft jazzy background music provided by a keyboard player from their band.
What kinds of "Themes" have you created for a soft summer beach or waterfront wedding?
I look forward to reading about your beautiful concepts and ideas!
Natalie,
The Capriccio Ensemble
