As a weddingplanner I was wondering how much and what kind of inventory you need to have when you are starting out in this business. I was thinking of ordering some decor supplies, wedding accessories and maybe later on adding some products to rent or sell on my website.

Give me some ideas please.

Thank you

I stock bridal emergency kit and camera related supplies
Do you make your own kits or do you buy them ready made?
Hi Iris,

You don't necessarily need to carry any inventory or stock, unless of course you want to include a specialized type of service for your brides/couples in addition to planning.

I would stay away from investing any money into decor (this can get very expensive). There are so many different styles and colors to choose from, and you'd be limited to what you have purchased, and you never know when you'd get the return on your investment. You could, however, purchase pew bows/decor that can be easy altered or added to to suit the event's theme.. or perhaps even candles or cameras (as mentioned earlier)... There are indeed some generic items that you can invest in and turn a profit.

If you're looking to rent items, arbor's are nice to have... and so are wishing wells. You could even look at glassware for table centers...

Just like Caren, I stock bridal emergency kits - which tend to be a 'must-have' for the bride. This might be a great place for you start as well...

Cheers.
