It's been my experience that running a wedding company takes patience, networking and access to the internet. With so much content already available to brides it is required that wedding vendors stay abreast of the changing trends! Brides in the new millenium are more tech savvy and clear about what they want. Most are either working full time, attending graduate school and/or cohabitating with their fiance'. Considering these conditions the wedding professional should place herself in the shoes of the bride by researching the latest in the wedding industry. Purchasing bridal magazines, visiting popular websites, watching popular tv shows {i.e. Whose Wedding Is It...}, attending local bridal shows and talking specifically to a few brides about their desires will give you the edge you need to stay current! Even if you contribute less than 50% of your business to supplying wedding services to bridal couples it is still a good idea to posess basic knowledge about the wedding planning process. This will give you a general idea of what your client is experiencing personally and how you can assist her better!
