I agree with Beverly. We're looking into joining the ABC in the next few months. There are a few others that are good too. You can actually google "wedding planner associations" and a bunch of them come up.
I spoke to someone last week and she told me that the requirements to become a member are going to become more strict within the next few months, I think she said in June. But I am thinking of joining the ABC, but I won't have all the requirements for a while yet. I will google other though, thank you.
One quick question. Are you cetified? If you have a cettification check with the school you were certfied with they may also have or be a part of an association. I have a friend who is a consultant too but she only got her degree in buisness. Which is good but the school has no networking component to assist her further.
Yes I am certified, but the school did not have is not part of any association. had I done more research I would have chosen one that was. The school was very good and I learned alot; I just wish they were part of one. But thanks for the info and I will go to the next meeting in Mass. and see what its all about. I do think that I will take a course from them too, the school I attended was only worth 1 point. So I have alot of points to gather before I can join!!
We're in an association for wedding professionals here in stockton. It's nice because we get the opportunity to of course network but most of all it's a small association so it's more like family. As I said before we network, give each other customers, and we get to work together often. Which makes a wedding day much easier if the vendors are all on the same page. We're all their to do a job but we want the bride and groom happy too! On the flip side we have been debating joining an association just for bridal consultants. If and when we do it will defiantley be ABC!
I think ABC-Assoc. of Bridal Consultants. They give you education, they have seminars, they give yocertificates, and they help you in all kinds of ways Try them; you'll like it.

Julie also remember if you google association try the top picks first and research those. Some times there's a reason why thing are at the bottom of the page!
