A Careful balance of Wedding Songs - the Bride and Groom may love them, the guests might not!

I have always tried to balance out the songs to be played at a disco, a good range of music, current and old favourites, to try and appeal to most of the guests.  This has served me well!

I always ask the client for preferred artists and tracks, and build them into a balanced playlist.  However, with increasing access to music electronically, many couples are being even more specific about their tracks, using itunes / spotify / itunes genius, and while they are finding a lot of tracks they like, sometimes a full evenings playlist, they don't always give enough thought to the audience.

At the end of the night, you are expecting to get the guests dancing and enjoying themselves!  So everyone reading, if you ever have a client suggesting that heavy metal is what they are planning for 5 hours, because they really like it, it would be a really good idea to politely suggest that they consider if this will get the whole wedding party dancing, or leaving early!
