2017 Weddings Will Experience Dramatic Opulence. Lush, romantic linens and floral arrangements set the tone for an opulent affair. When designing, you want to add that
"drama" piece - whether it be in your intricate table linens, a gleaming candelabra, bride and groom chairs, or hey, even a wall of flowers! Also, keep the look consistent. Keep centerpieces of the same height, one style of chairs, and lush tablescapes. There is a wonderful tone of softness in these looks. We think 2017 will bring classic elegance to the events, using beautiful champagne gold and navy or wine, with beautiful chairs, either spandex or pearls instead of covers, and using candleabras with florals adorning them. Centerpieces with staggering heights to give the room depth and draping and lighting that fill the room with the billowing of refinement. Budget minded brides are always there and yet want that same elegance, so being conscious of that is important in 2017.

The weddings I have had so far this year have been mostly beach weddings. You do not have to pay for this venue, and it can be decorated in many different ways. Many destination weddings come down here to southeast Florida to have a wedding on Hutchinson Island. It saves money, and that is what is most important here. You can have a beautiful ceremony without breaking the bank. The money they save makes the reception that much better.

2017 bridal gowns are very elegant. The trains are more dramatic and longer. The gowns have beautiful intricate beading, and ball gowns are making their way back. We think navy will be continue to be a big trend, and wedding décor will be elegant. Brides are very cost savvy, so it's important to have options in the store so they won't shop the internet.
In 2017, we'll see a lot more statement floral pieces, lots of blooms with some touches of greens, modern cascading bouquets that make a wow statement, and ceremony spaces that will include lush flowers and personal touches in the backdrops.

Couples have gone back to getting married in churches, synagogues, and temples. This is evidenced by the severe reduction in weddings the past two years. For the few that are still using officiants, It is my honor and my passion to give couples the ceremony they didn't know they could have.

For 2017 we still see metallics being popular, but glitter, gold and silver start to wane in popularity as champagne, copper, bronze and especially rose gold take over. Brides still want the glamour of metallic, but are opting for the softer, more romantic and rustic shades. We've seen a large increase in vendors creating and supplying rose gold decor, wedding favors, invitations, cake toppers and bridesmaid gifts.

Say Goodbye to DIY. The look now is opulent, updated, and individualized. Think refined, not rustic. . Pieces are curated,showing a thoughtful selection chosen specifically for the celebration. Every shade of gold is on-trend, as is lush linens, as fabrics become more and more detailed. Soft shades of champagne, blush, and taupe are highlighted with re-embroidered lace, sequins, and raw fabric treatments.

The 2016 Unplugged Trend of leaving your cellphone camera in your pocket during weddings is now trending the other direction in some weddings planned next year. This will be the most controversial Trend in 2017. In a few budget weddings, some have pondered the idea of skipping a professional photographer to save money by asking guests to do all the photography.
Naturally, as a professional photographer, I am biased in believing that money spent on the photography of your wedding is the most important dollars spent. Few of us marry more than once or twice...so guests aren't experienced is all the facets of recording the event. Here are a few reasons to ignore this trend when a well-meaning friend suggests it.
So sorry to be providing a negative trend, but if it's coming in 2017, we need to understand why it is a poor choice among couples.
