I'm not sure that I'm seeing them as more demanding, as much as I'm seeing them as more dollar conscious. Which can sometimes be the same thing, trying to get as much as can be for the dollars they have. Where the Royal weddings and the reality TV may come into play is people really craving the fancy details they see on TV. But not understanding the real price tag associated with the time involved in that level of preparation.
Interestingly however Price can also change your clientele. I find if something is too much of a bargain, I would get nitpicked over this and that in order to get the most for the few dollars one can afford to spend. At a certain point when you nudge your pricing high enough, the fact that you are an expert in your field also comes with your price, and I got fewer nitpickers if you can find that possible to believe?
We are still chugging along through a recession, so we are going to still see a few years of people looking to get the most they can with the budgets they have. What you may be talking about more specifically could be more sensationalized, I do not know, but I can be sure that the budgets can certainly be a part of the HOPE for more out of us if they can.
