Not Tonight Honey!! Okay, okay, I know what you are thinking. That's not really what I meant. When was the last time you had to say "Not Tonight Honey" to your kids when they wanted you to play games with them; when they wanted you to come to their concert or plays, or games??? And, yes, to your spouse. Always with the same excuse - I've got too much work to do.
Or do you say yes to them and then burn the midnight oil to get your work done? Then the next day you are tired and out of sorts and really are not as efficient as you could be - all because you are tired. I've seen many Facebook posts about photographers working into the wee hours of the morning to get an album done.
You're not alone. Most studios are operated by one person while their spouse either stays at home or has a job. It happened to me. Then one day you look back and think about all those times you missed with your kids, and you ask - was it all worth it? Could I have spent my time more wisely?
Many of the large, successful photographers highly recommend subcontracting work that someone else can do as well as you, or even better. It's extremely difficult to be an expert at all things.
