If we have to talk about the most significant thing about weddings, ‘wedding vows’ is the one.  The traditions and cultures for the wedding vary from religion to religion and even the wedding vows but, they are always there in every wedding. Classic religious wedding vows are too romantic and beautiful and no doubt they are the starting point of a very beautiful journey of life called marriage. If you are planning to get married anytime soon, here are some of the most romantic wedding vows ideas for you to choose from.

Catholic wedding vows

Catholicism is a form of the Christian faith and the traditional wedding vows of Catholics focus on being together in good and bad times throughout the life. The main motto of these vows is that only death can part away the bride and groom.

“I, ___, take you, ___, for my lawful wife/husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and health, until death do us part.”

Protestant wedding vows

Protestant wedding vows are similar to that of catholic wedding vows. They also focus on staying together in every situation of life. The main purpose of these vows is on permanent, faithful and long lasting relationship.

“I, (YOUR NAME), take thee, (YOUR PARTNER’S NAME), to be my wedded wife/husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part, according to God’s holy ordinance; and thereto I pledge thee my faith [or] pledge myself to you.”

Hindu Wedding vows

Hindu weddings do not have Traditional wedding vows as such. In fact, Hindu weddings have a more interactive approach with seven steps around the holy fire. These saptha padhi represents the promises of couple for each other. After the wedding, the bride and groom are friends for eternity. In such weddings the promises are recited by the holy Hindu priest in form of mantras.

Muslim Wedding vows

Like the Hindu weddings, there are no wedding vows quotes for Muslim weddings as well. The Imam, who is the head of the mosque narrates the meaning of marriage to the couple and also elaborate their responsibility towards family, Allah and each other. When the whole marriage contract is explained by the Imam, the couple has to consent to the marriage simply by saying ‘I accept’.

Russian Orthodox wedding vows

In a lot of orthodox weddings, the wedding vows are included silently. Rather than speaking up loud, the couple pray and encompasses their commitments for each other .However, the Orthodox Russian wedding vows ideas are quite different and they are exchanged in a ceremony.

“I, ___, take you, ___, as my wedded wife/husband and I promise you love, honor, and respect; to be faithful to you, and not to forsake you until death do us part. So help me God, one in the Holy Trinity, and all the Saints.”
